Salamanca is located in west Spain. The quickest way to get here is to take a plane to Madrid Airport ("Aeropuerto Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez") and to take either a train or a bus to arrive Salamanca.

Bus Madrid Airport-Salamanca:
There is a direct bus from Terminal 1 (T1) and from Terminal 4 (T4) to Salamanca (see https://www.venta.avanzabus.com). The round-trip has a discount. See below the timetables for the dates of the workshop.
Bus Madrid-Salamanca: Take a taxi or the Subway from Madrid Airport to the Estación Sur - Méndez Álvaro (Méndez Álvaro Bus Station) located at Street Méndez Álvaro 83 (this is also the name of the relevant subway stop). There is a direct Commuter Train from Madrid Airport (Terminal 4) to Méndez Álvaro Bus Station (which is the name of the commuter train stop).
There are buses leaving at each round hour, from 07:00 to 22:00 (and from 08:00 to 23:00 on Sundays), and the same for the way back. Make sure you buy a ticket for the "Express" (non-stop) service. The round-trip has a discount.

Alternative: Train Madrid-Salamanca:
Take a taxi (ask for a receipt; you can also take the Subway) from Barajas airport to Estación de Chamartín (Chamartín Railway Station) Careful: there are several railway stations in Madrid; make sure to tell the taxi driver it is Chamartín. There is a direct Commuter Train from Madrid Airport (Terminal 4) to Chamartín Railway Station (which is the name of the commuter train stop).
The train schedule is pretty stable. There are daily high-speed trains (ALVIA) Madrid-Salamanca leaving at 08:55, 12:45, 15:55 and 20:35, and the trip lasts one hour and a half. There are also daily MD (Media Distancia) trains Madrid-Salamanca at 07:33, 11:08, 13:35, 15:30, 17.57, 19:30 and 21.12 and the trip lasts two hours and forty five minutes. For the way back, there are daily high-speed trains (ALVIA) leaving from Salamanca at 06:50, 10:50, 15:30, 18:20, and the MD trains from Salamanca at 05:48, 07:37, 09:45, 12:28, 16:44, 17:38 and 19:58. The round trip has a discount.

If you like walking, from the bus station, it takes around 10-15 minutes walking.
